Mbarara is located in Ankole sub region western Uganda. It covers an area of 1,846.4km2 bordering districts of Ibanda in the north, Kiruhura in the east, Isingiro in the south east, Ntugamo in the south west, Sheema in the east and Buhwenju in the north west. Mbarara is commonly referred to as the ‘land of milk and honey’. It is on the west of Masaka on the road to Kabale near Lake Mburo national park. Getting there– Mbarara lies south west of Kampala approximately 290km from the city and a road trip normally lasts between 3-4 hours using the Masaka – Mbarara high way.
