Charlie Lau & Family’s 8-Day Safari in Uganda with Anthony

Charlie Lau and his family embarked on an unforgettable 8-day safari journey through Uganda, expertly guided by Anthony Nuwahereza– one of the top safari driver in Uganda. Their adventure showcased the country’s stunning wildlife, breathtaking landscapes, and rich cultural experiences.

On Day 1, Anthony picked up the family from Kabalagala, starting a scenic four-hour drive to Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Here, they enjoyed an exciting rhino tracking experience. Afterward, they headed to Pross Residence in Masindi for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2 began with a transfer to Murchison Falls National Park for chimpanzee tracking in the Budongo Forest. The family spent two hours observing chimpanzees in their natural habitat. In the afternoon, Anthony drove them to the top of the iconic Murchison Falls. They checked in at Red Chilli Camp and later went on an evening game drive, returning to the lodge for dinner and rest.

On Day 3, the group transferred from Murchison Falls to Kibale Forest, where they settled into Kibale Forest Camp. This day was dedicated to relaxation, allowing the family to unwind at the lodge and prepare for the upcoming adventures.

Bigodi swamp

Day 4 started with a morning bird-watching session at Bigodi Swamp, observing a diverse array of bird species during a two-hour trek. Following this, the family enjoyed a hands-on coffee experience and basket weaving activity. They then continued their journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park, checking in at Pumba Lodge. The day concluded with a thrilling three-hour game drive in Kasenyi Plains, where they spotted the elusive leopards, before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

On Day 5, after breakfast, the family checked out and drove to the Ishasha sector for a morning game drive. Here, they had the rare and exciting opportunity to see the famed tree-climbing lions. Later, they checked in at Ishasha’s Topi Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6 involved a transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The family checked in at Karungi Camp, enjoying dinner and an overnight stay surrounded by the park’s lush forest environment.

Day 7 featured the highlight of the Uganda safari: a briefing at the park headquarters, followed by an incredible gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi. After this once-in-a-lifetime encounter, they checked out of Karungi Camp and traveled to Gahiza Island Retreat for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay by the water.

On the final Day 8, Anthony drove the family from Gahiza Island Retreat to Kisoro Airstrip. From there, they boarded Aerolink for their flight to Entebbe Airport, concluding their remarkable 8-day Ugandan safari adventure.
